Subsurface Concerns

Pre- and Post-Drill Baseline Testing

Pre-drill testing of private wells and water sources is required for establishing a baseline, which will allow proper determination of environmental impacts. Additional testing may be performed during and/or after the drilling process, so samples can be compared. Pre- and post-drill testing addresses potential concerns from the fracking process as well as inadequate well construction.

Available services cover:

  • Area drinking water wells
  • Frequency of sampling during drilling process
  • Analyte list

Naturally Occurring Radioactive Material (NORM)

Naturally occurring radioactive material (NORM) can originate in the subsurface and be transported to the surface through production of formation water associated with oil and gas development. Due to the potential presence of NORM in frac fluids, it is an issue that is closely evaluated relative to worker and public safety. Pace Analytical has the capabilities to help interested parties test and interpret their results for radioactivity.
