Laboratory facility process and systems, infrastructure management and administration functions are continually being improved to achieve performance among high technology research organizations. The demand is greater than ever before to improve efficiency and cut costs while maintaining compliance in an increasingly complex regulatory environment.
Pace Analytical’s Instrument Support Group can assist with your goals to improve your facilities technical operations through the design and installation of a Continuous Monitoring System (CMS). The CMS is a stand-alone system that can be installed in any company to monitor and control analytical test equipment, clean rooms, stability chambers, refrigerators/freezers and facility systems, such as lighting, air control, temperature and humidity.
Many laboratories are still using chart-recorders, manual logbooks, and one-a-day recordings of temperatures, humidity, and pressures. These forms of data tracking are unreliable, inconsistent, and have unnecessary opportunities for human error. If a freezer door is left open or if the facility power goes out over the weekend, no one will notice until the next “scheduled” time that day or the next day. If the temperature sensor in the chamber dies or if no one can record temperatures on a holiday, any auditor can ask if the environment of the stored product remained constant. Without continuous tracking and trending, these difficulties can create findings from auditors, result in losing thousands of dollars when products go bad, and waste hours of time and materials.
With Pace’s Continuous Monitoring System, alarm conditions are set specifically for each item and the real-time data for all of the inputs can be viewed from one computer. If monitored data points move out of the set tolerance range, the CMS will alarm and send an e-mail, make a phone call, speak over the PA system, ring a bell, or however else you choose to customize the alarms. In each case, specific personnel (chosen by you) will be notified of the alarm. This provides the opportunity to save the critical sample or product inside, before it is too late.
Each CMS is CFR Part 11 compliant and fully customizable for you. It is an open protocol system for use with sensors you already own and it is completely expandable at any time. Start with just a few inputs or start with many, we are sure you will love the flexibility, security and savings this system will offer your laboratory.
Pace’s CMS is designed for laboratories by a laboratory company. This product is so useful within our own analytical lab we decided others may be interested in it too.
