Title:
FTIR Analyst I
Summary:
Candidate will perform collection and field analysis of environmental and process related air samples
Responsibilities:
  • Perform a variety of field analytical tests, primarily gas-phase organic and inorganic compounds by extractive fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy
  • Perform field sampling in accordance with EPA, NIOSH, and OSHA methodologies, field service QA manual, and client directed objectives
  • Operate FTIR analysis on-site for clients and provide an understanding of potential hazardous materials
  • Utilize various computer software programs for analysis of field samples and troubleshoot computer or instrument difficulties
  • Present a high quality professional appearance 
Requirements:
  • BS in Chemistry or related science
  • 1 year FTIR operation experience and knowledge of FTIR sampling and operation
  • Have knowledge of air sampling and calculations in accordance with EPA methodologies (i.e. EPA Methods 1-4)
  • Must have valid drivers license and good driving record over the past 5 years
  • Position requires travel, up to 50% of the time
  • Advanced computer and mechanical skills
